How the gross is found
The calculator inverts the gross-to-net calculation, using the same 2026 URSSAF scale as the salary calculator: same contributions per status, same social security ceiling, same CSG base. It narrows down, step by step, the gross whose net after contributions lands on the requested net, to the cent.
No approximate inverse formula: feed the displayed gross back into the gross-to-net calculator and you get the target net. The gap shown under the result verifies it on every calculation.
What the estimate leaves out
The target net is the net before income tax: withholding tax then applies at your household rate. Not modelled: overtime, bonuses, company health cover, benefits in kind and Agirc-Arrco bracket 2 — above the social security ceiling, the actual gross to negotiate may be slightly higher.
The exact gross depends on the collective agreement and the contract. This is an estimate to prepare a negotiation, not a payroll figure.
